About Joey's Seafood Restaurants
Joey's first opened its doors in the summer of 1985 in Calgary, Alberta. One might think this is an odd birthplace for a seafood restaurant chain but Joe's great recipes, speedy service and great hospitality soon had the seats full and a line up down the block.
With its growing success, Joey's expanded to multiple stores and then began franchising in 1992. By 1997, within five years of franchising, Joey's was voted the "Number 1 new full service restaurant franchise" by Entrepreneur magazine.
In May of 2000 Joey's Seafood Restaurants across Canada adopted the Alzheimer society as a national charity. To date, over $800,000 has been raised to support this vital cause. In addition, Joey's owners across Canada support a number of locally important causes.
