Training & Support

At Joey’s we believe in building a business through great foundations. Our development team is with our Partners right from the beginning, building the first relationship in our franchise family. Opening a new business is stressful and difficult, so our team works hand in hand on site selection, lease negotiation and construction to help you feel comfortable at every step.

Training

Our Partners are the reason we are here and they are of the utmost importance to us. We ensure that our Franchise Partners are trained thoroughly so that they can execute the system flawlessly for a timely and positive experience for their guests. Our five–week training program takes you through every aspect of restaurant management including food preparation, marketing, and general operation of your franchise. Taught by seasoned experts, your training features hands on practical sessions that take place in our corporate restaurant. Our classroom sessions compliment your “on the job” training and you will receive accounting, marketing, and operations manuals that will provide you with documentation to have close at hand in your restaurant.

Site Selection & Lease Negotiations

Once your franchise application is approved, Joey's will assist with your site selection and construction plans. After assisting with the lease negotiations, we will provide you with a standard building plan. Joey’s will recommend any necessary changes to ensure the most efficient use of your space. The planning department may then improve your final drawings. Through our collective buying power, you can purchase equipment and furnishings at very competitive prices, receiving quality merchandise with prompt delivery.

We’re there when you open

Joey’s specialists will be available on site for up to two weeks to ensure the smooth opening of your new franchise: Operations representatives will also be available for the ongoing support. Their expert operational skills in operating a Joey’s will assist you in learning how to operate an efficient outlet.

Ongoing Operation Support

Joey’s supports its franchise partners with periodic visits and coaching from experienced operations field staff, who correspond with franchise partners on operational and promotional matters. All franchise partners gather together for Spring and Fall regional meetings to discuss new programs, exchange ideas on policies, procedures and operational techniques, and to communicate with Joey’s senior management. These conferences also provide an opportunity to socialize with other Joey’s partners and staff.

Marketing

The advertising fees received from franchise operators are allocated to advertising programs conducted throughout the system. The Marketing Department manages and coordinates the advertising fund, with suggestions from both franchise partners and the Franchise Advisory Council, and supplies each franchise with guidance and support materials to assist each franchise in carrying out local area marketing activities.

Each restaurant may join or develop a Marketing Area Association through which franchisees exchange ideas and discuss advertising strategies for their specific region. At the local advertising level the Marketing Department provides print ad advice and approval, as well as Grand Opening, Anniversary, and special promotions advice.

Registered Trademarks

Franchisees use the appropriate brand trademarks, logos and visual symbols for their restaurant, provided through a comprehensive sign and printed graphics package (including menus, point of sale materials and other printed materials).

Purchasing & Distribution

Centralized purchasing and distribution ensures the highest levels of quality with the best possible value. National and regional contracts are negotiated when possible to ensure not only tangible savings for our franchisees but also to minimize diversionary time dealing with local sales representatives. Chain–wide distribution and purchasing programs give each franchisee the advantages of being part of a large, effective buying organization while managing his/her individual restaurant as an entrepreneur.
